Lake Powell

Am and I went to Lake Powell this week with his sister, brother in law, and niece and nephew... along with their family friends. It was such a fun trip. (But lets be serious now.. when isnt lake powell a fun trip?... umm never!). We were only there for a few days, and even though it was windy and the water was choppy.. we still had a blast. The only downside to lake powell?....coming home 42904832 pounds heavier. Whyyyy is there always soo many treats?! I guess it is a good thing my first dress fitting went perfectly. No two-a-days for the next 32 days. Hallelujah!!!
I promise my eyes are open
why is he sooo strong?! i can neverrr dunk him.
My cute little [future] niece Grace.

M.I.A

Yup i will admit it.. i left for the weekend and hardly told a soul. I am happy to be away. I came to one of my favorite locations, and boy is it heaven here. I love having absolutely nothing to do, no where to be, and having some selfish Haley Thinking Time. It is sooo great and refreshing. I am sure if you know me well enough you could easily figure out my whereabouts.... but for now i am leaving that little bit of information undisclosed. I will return soon enough and hopefully i will see some of your bright lovely faces!

Happy Fall Break to all my fellow Utes!!

HAPPY CINCO DE MAYO

Spring Break 2011

How awesome was Spring Break? SO Awesome. I loved every minute of it. I headed down to St George (of course) and hung out with my pals down yonder. It rained Sunday and Monday, but honestly i really didn't mind too much. We had our poncho's and we were taken care of :)
I was so happy that i got to watch some baseball games while i was there. I have some really good friends on the team and i just love baseball so it was great.

Wednesday i laid out all afternoon. It wasn't that warm and i was sure that i wasn't getting burnt. Little did i know..when i went inside i was fried! I think part of it was because of this medicine i am on right now that makes my skin super sensitive.. but still! i never burn. talk about frustrating. I was still completely satisfied with my tan though. Paige, Ammon, and I went shopping that night.. unfortunately i didnt find one thing! I did however get a chance to wear one of my new shirts that i bought at Kohls awhile ago.. remember that blog post? TOo bad i didnt really get any good pictures of me in it!

My last night in St. George we decided we wanted to play Spoons... You can see how well that went..
Gosh i love my roommates so much. And Am is pretty great too. i always love visiting st george! I headed home on thursday afternoon and headed straight up to this girls wedding reception!
Skwig and I at our signing party senior year. She played for Idaho State.
Meet Skwig. Also known as Ashley Askwig. Now, known as Ashley Irvin. Skwig and i grew up playing soccer against each other. We reunited our senior year when she came to play with Celtic Storm. Since we were commuting to Orem everyday for practice we got to be really close friends. I love this girl sooo much! Her wedding was gorgeous and she looked beautiful. Congrats to Skwig and Steve!

Saturday was the festival of colors.. but i will do a post specifically for that day. it was sooo great! so be stoked. now i just have to focus on my last few weeks of school! eeeeekkkk!!

St G. Vegas. Weddings. Friends.

Last weekend i took the much needed break and headed down to st george. Seriously though how much can a girl talk about loving one place? With two jobs, going to school full time, and planning for Africa, i honestly don't have too much extra time.  This last weekend was seriously perfect in every way and i am so glad i took the opportunity to go to george when i had 3 free days!
Teisha. Alex. Ammon. Haley.
Am and I playing Mini Bowling. Way fun.
The trip was amazing and included some great things. who doesnt love a spur of the moment trip to vegas to watch Jimmer play? i know i am no byu fan, but when they got a man like that i cant deny his skills. Deciding not to spend $135 to get into the game proved to be a good decision. (duh! and thank goodness!) Figuring out our GPS was crap sure gave us the scenic route of vegas. Finding a random sports grill with 31431343 flat screens to watch Jimmer drop 52 was beyond lucky. Accompanied by 151385948592 other mormon byu fans and drunk new mexico fans. so great. Oh and we cant forget about the free arcade. That's right.. i said free games. Unlimited actually. I beat Am in basketball 3 times. every single time by one point. talk about buzzer beaters. He is probably still crying about it.
Min. Hay. Whit. Going to Skwigs wedding reception. How pretty is that background?
Saturday included laying out with whit and getting fried! Yay for the first tan of the year! Then it was off to two wedding receptions. What is with everyone getting married? But weddings do make me happy as you all know. Min took one for the team at the second reception. Who else hates the awkward handshake-hug confusion? it provided me with some good laugh. I love whit and min. They are seriously the best!!! Then we headed home where Alicia and Courtney came over and we watched one of my all time favorites: Matilda.
Min. Paige. Hay. Whit.
Guys i promise i am not preggo. I packed horribly for this trip as you can tell by the babydoll style shirt with the ruffled skirt?
Did i mention that the super skinny gorgeous girl in teal went through the temple on saturday? She was absolutely glowing all day. I loved catching up and talking with paige. She is such an amazing woman! She is supposed to be going to the Independence, Missouri Mission in May, but... lets just say she might be going to the temple for a different reason this summer. Who knows. i am excited to see what happens!

Sunday included SPRINGING FORWARD. yup shoot me. I was so tired for church. And for some reason all of us going to church together makes us irreverent.  But i did get to sit by Mr Ammon and that made me somewhat more reverent. The trip came to an end way too fast.. but the good news is i am going back this sunday!
 HELLO SPRING BREAK!
Seriously though can spring break come any quicker?
i am so sick of school. get me outta that place!
and really. Where is the month of March going?
already half way done? whaaaa?

Excited.

I am beyond excited to go back to Kenya. Holy Moly preparations are under way and it is getting me a little too happy sometimes. June 9th cannot come fast enough!!! if you know anyone that is interested in maybe joining our team. ..let me know :)

In other news... I am heading to....
 ITALY
for 10 days after kenya! Crazy right?! I can seriously hardly wait to see these two little girls! And of course my aunt Cyd, and uncle Damon.
All in all i will be gone for just a little bit less than a month.. june 9-July 3. two and a half of those weeks in Kenya, and the rest in Italy and London. I have ALWAYS wanted to go to Italy and seriously i can hardly wait for summer!!

Weekendddd

This last weekend some of Chan's friends were going down to St George to go four wheeling. They graciously let me come along for the ride so i could go visit my friends down there. You all know how much i love St. G and i have to admit..it is days like today when i trulyy MISS living in the sunshine. Dont get me wrong i love walking to class in -8 degree temps but i also love playing volleyball in shorts and a tee in the middle of January as well.
On saturday Alex took us shooting. We use to go all the time together and i was so happy when he agreed to take us. He brought along his girlfriend Teisha and i was so excited i got to meet her. She was so easy to be around and honestly i felt like i had known her for a very long time! We had a lot of fun.
Alex and his prey.
Alex got to practice his aim when we saw this little rodent scurrying along the hillside about 40-50 yards from where we were. He was SURE that he hit it.. and sure enough when we went to check.. he had nailed it. :)
How sweet is this picture really though?

Haley. Paige. Whitley. Min.
Me and my roommates went to the Dixie basketball game together. I got to see a lot of people that i havent seen in quite awhile. It was so fun! I love spnding times with my roommates and i was so excited when i got to hang out with Madison and haley for a bit. AZ trip reunion..only missing court.

All in all it was a great weekend. Only a few weird things occurred and it was made up for by spending quality time with the roommates. Paige should be getting her mission call this week so i will for sure let you all know where she is headed!

Fall Break

How many posts can a girl do about how much she loves St George? I don't know.. but seriously the place never gets old. I headed down there last week for Fall Break and it was great. My family even came down for a few days!

Thursday we spent at Zions National Park hiking and hanging out. OH my gosh it was so gorgeous! i have always wanted to go and it was better than i ever imagined. The hikes were easy and not too strenuous, and the views were AMAZING. Seriously if you havent been.. i highly suggest it!
So glad that Ammon came along with me, Teag, and my parents. There were so many pictures to choose from so i had to condense them into just a few.
Friday was spent up at Dixie Rock and the Crack with my family. Whit tagged along too. We helped my mother overcome her fear of claustrophobia when we forced her to go through the tiny slot up at the crack. She was flipping out and it was hilarious.
Dixie Rock fun
Whit and I pretending to be Cheerleaders. I think we could do it. Dont you?
Friday afternoon my roommates, ammon, my family, and I decided that we were going to go play some baseball. We use to go play last semester with the baseball boys a lot, but we hadnt gone for quite awhile. We all borrowed some of Ammon's sweet Dixie baseball hats and headed off to the field. We all took turns hitting and being out fielders. I love how my roommates are freakin all star athletes.. i swear they could play any sport. And ammon?... Ok freakin LEGIT ball player- but we all already knew that.

Just posing for some pics! looking good right?
My absolute favorite picture from the weekend. we look so hard core!
A bunch of us also went camping! Actually i should say we just got together and had a fire cuz only 2 people of the 15 decided to stay the night.. wow we are party poopers! hahah it was so fun though!
Camping out in the red sand.. love it.
Well Fall Break was definitely a great weekend. But the one down fall was that it was SO hard to get up and go back to school yesterday morning. blah. but soon it is Halloween.. my absolute favorite! yay!!

Took a trip home!

This past weekend..i went back to my beloved home in St. George. I cant even tell you how great it was to spend time with my roommates and my good ol buddies that are still down there. I walked into my old apartment and honestly it was like i never left. I have missed St George so much and i have missed my friends. They are the best and it was so good to be down in the Dixie atmosphere again.

Min-Paige-Whit-Haley
When i first got there my roommates had a soccer game so i went straight to the field. Both my girls played so well.. Whit scored twice in one game, and Min seriously bicycled the ball like a mile in the air :) It was so fun seeing some of the girls that i use to play with and cheering on Dixie State!

Front row: Whitley-Jess-Julie-Suzy-Amanda-Marissa
Suzy is getting married this week so a bunch of us girls got together and went to dinner at the  Pizza factory. Suzy was the keeper coach my freshman year and although she was our coach, we always hung out with her. She is so fun and i am so excited for her wedding this weekend!

Just hanging out causin mischief
To be honest we didn't really 'do' a whole lot---mostly just watched conference and hung out. But really i could sit in a room with these girls for hours and never get bored.

just watchin the soccer game. Paige, Haley, Ammon.
It was fun to hang out with my old friends, and also meet the new people that i have heard so much about :) Overall the weekend was a success and i definitely will be going back soon!

Man i love my St George crew!

Bryce Canyon

Last weekend Hay Dut, Steph, Jaim and I took a quick little trip down to Bryce Canyon. The girls had been training for a the half marathon and unfortunately my training was interrupted with my trip to Africa. Ok lets be honest.. never really started training-i'm not much of a runner, but i hope to be someday! So i just went to watch and provide some good moral support. The girls did great and we ended up having so much fun!

We almost ran out of gas in the middle of no where on our way to Panguitch. Somehow we miraculously made it 30 miles on the gas light. Never been happier to see a SILVEREAGLE
Takin a nice little picture in front of the Bryce Canyon sign.. which by the way wasn't even near where we were supposed to be.

Such a scenic view :)

We were homeless cuz we didnt want to drive all the way up to the campsite, and a hotel would have been too expensive.. so we camped out on the LDS church's lawn in Canonville. Dont worry the population of Canonville is 130. so funny. Luckily there was a family reunion that night so we got to use the bathroom..or else we would have been in serious trouble!
