the finals week look

So what if i use finals week as an excuse to not get ready? Today i wore my VS sweatpants, and a new crew neck hoodie that i got last week...via Cyber Monday. Steal of a deal i tell ya. But i think the best part is my hair piled up on top of my head. I'm loving the fact that i can put my hair in a nice little sock bun and call it good. Loving the sock bun look this week. And you better believe i'm gonna keep rockin it. Good luck on your finals lovelies! finish strong!
Naturally while i am studying i decide to write a blog post about my hair, so i take pictures on my webcam. What the heck? As you can tell i will be reallyyyy glad when finals are over! Procrastination at its finest people.
Ps i promise my hair isn't jet black like it looks here. And i'm not trying to look like an asian.. maybe the whole cinnamon bun/dark hair isn't such a good idea after all?

Gender Final Project

So my gender communication class has definitely been one of my favorite classes i have ever taken. It is something that i thoroughly enjoy learning about! Anyway for our final project we have been creating a portfolio with artifacts that deal with gender issues in the media. We had to answer some specific questions as to what the artifact was communicating, and what we thought of the article. Anway I just finished mine! I am pretty proud, yet insanely exhausted and ready for this week to be over. Glad it is only monday! not.

please check it out and let me know what you think! i am considering keeping this blog up cuz it really is so intriguing! i am a nerd.. i know.

*oh and let me say.. there are some pretty explicit things on there.. hahah dont look if you cant handle it :)

Took a trip home!

This past weekend..i went back to my beloved home in St. George. I cant even tell you how great it was to spend time with my roommates and my good ol buddies that are still down there. I walked into my old apartment and honestly it was like i never left. I have missed St George so much and i have missed my friends. They are the best and it was so good to be down in the Dixie atmosphere again.

When i first got there my roommates had a soccer game so i went straight to the field. Both my girls played so well.. Whit scored twice in one game, and Min seriously bicycled the ball like a mile in the air :) It was so fun seeing some of the girls that i use to play with and cheering on Dixie State!

Suzy is getting married this week so a bunch of us girls got together and went to dinner at the  Pizza factory. Suzy was the keeper coach my freshman year and although she was our coach, we always hung out with her. She is so fun and i am so excited for her wedding this weekend!

Just hanging out causin mischief
To be honest we didn't really 'do' a whole lot---mostly just watched conference and hung out. But really i could sit in a room with these girls for hours and never get bored.

just watchin the soccer game. Paige, Haley, Ammon.
It was fun to hang out with my old friends, and also meet the new people that i have heard so much about :) Overall the weekend was a success and i definitely will be going back soon!

Man i love my St George crew!

You've Got a Friend in Omega

This weekend was so great. We had our sorority retreat up at Scottie's cabin on friday night, and on Saturday morning there was the big kickball tourney for all the sorority chapters. I love my Omega Girls! It was such a blast just spending time with them and getting to know each of them a little bit better. Oh! and don't worry.. Omega won the Kickball Tourney! booo yeah! It was such a fun couple days and i cant wait for what is to come!
Kim Possible and I ridin the DEER! Get buck!

Lacey and I pre-tourney

And the Result..... CHAMPS! Go Omega!

Cheers to New Beginnings!

Holy Moly my life has been so crazy busy.. sooo here is a quick update with a lot of pictures..

  • I joined a sorority up at the U... weird right? It's through the institute and i am already in love. I love the girls, the activities and the opportunities it gives me! Goooo OMEGA!!

  • I went to the John Mayer concert... did you know he is my absolute favorite? Always has been and always will be. Yes, i know he is kinda sketchy.. but he is ridiculously talented. Holy smokes. Honestly the whole time i was just in awe at his amazing musical skills. Really though. He has a God given gift.. and it is so evident. I love how all his songs are so relatable, and so true. I first fell in love with John Mayer back in 2008 when Ben and I went to his concert together. That night was one of the best nights ever. I remember we were a little disappointed when he didn't sing Slow Dancing in a Burning Room, (one of our absolute favorite songs to sing together) so needless to say.. i was ecstatic when he sang that song this year. Ben would have been flipping out, cuz he loves that song. It made my night and for a second there i felt like Ben was right there singing it to me! hahaha i am such a nerd..

Reppin the John Mayer T-shirt.
Ali, Lacey, and i met up with a bunch of friends from high school! John mayer really is just so great.

  • Utes kicked off the football season last night! .....and i am officially a member of the MUSS! It was such a fun game and so dang intense. i loved every second of it. It is so crazy how big the student section is, and how much school spirit everyone has. That is one thing that is different from Dixie, everyone has pride in their school! GO UTES!!
Official MUSS member. Lovin the Tee

The girls.. Lacey, Brooke, and Scottie.

Right after we won in OT! such a crazy game.. with an unnecessary overtime..

I am loving my life right now! i am so busy but time is flying by.. which is exactly what i need :)

Lexi gets married tomorrow so expect a post about that coming soon :)

School is for Fools!

So i officially go here..

PROS
  • The fact that i know that my teachers KNOW what they are talking about.
  • The fact that i have SO many opportunities within my major that i wouldn't have had at Dixie.
  • I KNOW i am going to learn so many cool things!
  • The BEAUTIFUL campus
  • The comfy chairs
  • The diverse people- i heard 4 different languages while walking to class today.
  • The number of people!
  • There is ALWAYS something going on
  • The liberal teachers and students.. ahahah i love hearing their views of the world
  • Only going to school mon-thurs!

CONS
  • The commute! i have to wake up soo freakin early it's ridiculous. (at the same time i love my thinking time)
  • The WALKING! sooo much walking. and more walking. and more walking. and more walking.
  • The parking! so frustrating
  • The stupid counselors who all tell me different things-thus the reason i was enrolled in 2 classes until late last night, and the 2 i was enrolled in weren't even ones i needed for my major.. yeah way cool.
  • The stupid teachers who wont add me even though there are PLENTY of seats available.
  • The guy who skipped processing my ucard so i ended up waiting 45 min.. all while the people behind me in line were getting their cards. sweet man.
  • the blisters on my feet from my dang shoes.. and the WALKING

I love when the teacher cancels class on the 2nd day it's in session.. and when i just added it late last night.. showed up this morning at 8, and don't worry.. CANCELLED. wayyyyy cool.

I seriously LOVE school so far though. It is so fun.. and i really cant wait for football season to start! whooo

GO UTES

Last Days at Dixie..

Well i am officially home for the summer! It is definitely weird not being in St. George anymore and the thought that i probably will never live there again is depressing! But, i do have to say that the last weeks in Dixie were the greatest. We did so many fun things and there are too many pictures to post them all!

There is the coolest rock water slide in Leeds that my roommates and i love to go to. The water is freezing, but it is definitely worth the experience.

Alex, Ammon, Whit, Min, Hay

Poor whit was a gimp so we made a human chain to help her get up the waterfall! So funny.

As a group of friends we all went camping! what a fun and memorable night! We roasted marshmallows, hotdogs and sat around the campfire! It got super windy and cold that night though so we ended up bailing at like 6 in the morning. I am pretty sure i got zero sleep that night! fabulous.

Alex and i are hunting buddies. We went rabbit hunting a few times and Alex taught me how to snipe a bird off a cactus. Some of the funniest times were with alex while hunting!

Well Dixie.. Farewell for now!! sad day but you will always have a place in my heart!

xoxox

Smart Hay.. Real Smart

Last monday i went to the computer center to do some research on an argumentative presentation i had to prepare. This class is only once a week and really isn't too strenuous. i pulled out my syllabus.. and realized very quickly that i had FORGOTTEN to take a test the week before. I immediately freaked. I have NEVER in my life not turned in an assignment, never not taken a test, and never turned anything in late. How the crap did i completely SPACE taking a 100 point test?

I honestly felt like i was going to pass out. i put my head on the desk and sat there for good 5 minutes repeating... How the crap!? What was i doing the previous thursday that was so important that i forgot to take a test? Oh yeah.. that day was April Fools. My roommates and i were busy pulling pranks on our neighbors. We were dying Easter eggs. We were playing with water guns til 2 in the morning. We were throwing confetti filled eggs at people. All awesome reasons not to take a test right?

Our "Water Gun Experiment" that we were busy doing while i should have been taking a test.

Luckily my good friend Ammon was there to 'laugh it off' with me. It was the weirdest feeling.. i was so devastated but i wasn't too worried about it for some reason. Yes-this meant i was probably going to end up with a B..maybe a C if i didn't ace my final speech, and my final test. SHIZZZ. Talk about pressure. I called my mom. She had the same response as Ammon.. she LAUGHED. My roommates-Same reaction. Laughing?! I was so confused why everyone thought this was so funny? CUZ it definitely wasnt.. WHAT THE HECK PEOPLE!

Well long story short.. I didnt say anything to my professor.. i was too scared, and i knew i didnt deserve to take the test. Plus he is a good argue-er ..hence he teaches Argumentation and Critical Thinking. I dont regret not taking the test because i learned a lot of valuable lessons from this experience.
1. play time is always more fun than study time
2. I became closer with my friends that day-we had some great experiences that i will remember forever.
3. Maybe i should buy a planner?
4. Life isn't over when something unfortunate happens. Life goes on.
and #5 comes from my mom who said..
5. At least it didn't have any Eternal Consequence.

How true is that? Sometimes i get so caught up with stuff.. that really doesn't matter. Yes, education is important. But i had more valuable experiences and learned more from NOT taking the test than i would have if i took the test. I am grateful for those who were there for me that day to laugh it off with and the lesson that they taught me that ..
life really does go on!

Spring Break Week 2??

Last week was one crazzyyy week! There were tonz of people in St. George for their spring breaks, and i swear every night we had different people staying at our house. I felt like i was running a motel or something.

However.. i was eagerly looking forward to Wednesday, when Brooke, Jaimie, and Haley were coming down from Utah State. Oh my heck! it was so fun to have my friends come to visit! I miss them all so much and we had sooo much fun catching up and playing together! I loved having them in town!

First night at Pizza Factory.. YUMM!

Caving adventures..

Vegas!! shopping at the Outlet Mall.

M&M factory

Coca-Cola Factory

End the day at Caesars Palace for dinner at Planet Hollywood!

It was seriously so much fun having the girls come visit. I loved showing them my little 'world' down here in St. George and i wish so badly that they could come visit more often! I love these girls and we were all so sad that Steph couldnt come!! next time i guess :)

Arizona... Oh yeah baby!

Well two weeks ago some friends and i decided to take a random trip to Arizona to watch the baseball team play. Madison's family lives there, so it was a cheap trip and soo much fun. The weather was super nice on Friday, but on Saturday.. it poured!

Loving the Arizona heat!

Boo... freakin RAIN!!!

Our sweet walmart tats! excuse the fact that i look HUGE!

One huge cactus!

There were definitely some gorgeous sunsets :) the picture doesn't do justice!
