turning 22

Woke up to the most precious kiss ever from the most amazing fiance ever. slowly dragged out of bed to see a bouquet of white roses, a book, and an envelope on the table. opened the envelope to find tickets to see the US National womens soccer team. shrieks of excitement! A Red Sox jersey from his parents. SO happy. shower, get ready, and dance party in the car. Call Me Maybe was the first song on the radio, my response: "this is a sign that it's going to be the best birthday everrr!" Then it was off to lunch with my soon-to-be sister in law, and my soon-to-be niece and nephew. Chili's chips and salsa always make me happy. homeward bound to make welcome home posters for my cute aunt and cousins coming home from Italy after two years. A new purse, maxi dress, and shirt waiting my arrival. Whipped out my high school banner making skills. Blow gun competitions with the little brother. Shot an egg with the first dart. nbd. Fashion Place Mall kindly provided me with a new swimsuit. (complements of mother, of course). bought my first fedora. Way too excited not to have to do my hair when it's greasy.. instant solution: fedora. long shorts and skirts that are "G" approved were added to my wardrobe as well. A quick nap, and off to another wedding reception for my cute friend Aubrey. Hustled home and hustled even more to make it to the airport on time. Waiting and waiting. Ammon holding the sign that said "YAY". Hilarious. And big hugs and happy tears after hugging my cute Aunt Cyd. even bigger hugs for my two cutest cousins Halle and Savvy. (remember when i stayed with them while i was in Italy?) Laughs and funny faces at "Scripture Boy"..their nickname for Am. A drive to grandmas, and Happy Birthday songs sang. The best Nothing Bunt Cake ever. Halle's impersonation of the "Italian Momma's". Lots of laughs and funny stories shared.

22 might have just been the best birthday yet. LOVED seeing the Dixon's.. even though i was lucky enough to go see them in Italy.. Nothing beats having them home and close. Am treated me like a princess and my mom and dad spoiled me. Chan even got me a gift.. batteries and corn husk holders. Awesome story behind that gift.

Happy Birthday Dear

Today is Am's birthday.. So clearly a blog post is necessary.

Ammon turns 24 today. Yeahhhh holy old man status i know! haha kidding. this boy is so great. if you need a friendly little reminder about our history together.. well you can read his birthday post from last year, here. It is so crazy how things have turned out, but to say the least i am so happy.

Anyway today Am left for Oakland, CA, for a 4 game baseball series this weekend. So instead of celebrating today we did last night! Am and I went to Texas Roadhouse because he wanted a 'big fat steak'. hahah such a man! :) I am seriously shocked at how much this boy can eat/drink. It almost makes me proud in a weird way. haha. After dinner (which he made me swearrrr i wouldn't tell the server that it was his birthday) we headed to my house where we met up with our friends to have cupcakes, ice cream, and asphalt pie. We casually talked and hung out. It was a chill night spent with close friends.. just the type of night we both enjoy!

This morning i met him at his house where i 'surprised' him with new batting gloves and a shirt from AE. I made him pick his own gloves because one time he told me "well if i don't like them, i'll just use them as my practice gloves...And if i dont like the clothes you get me i will just wear them around the house. ....but i am sure i will love anything you get me" haahahahhaa.....OK!?  Needless to say i am completely freaked out about buying this boy anything now. But deep down i know he would wear anything if it meant it made me happy. BUT i understand that when it comes to baseball, things get serious. Anyway he was happy and i think i did alright in my shopping selections!

Am is so great and is the most sincere person i know. He is genuine, thoughtful, loving, kind, funny, determined, and smart. He is talented, and yet humble. I know you all don't know much about this cute boy but that post is coming soon. Today i mostly just want to say...

These Lovelies..

were delivered to my doorstep on Saturday. Slightly confused, i read the little note that came along with them. "Happy 21st Birthday, thinking of you on our day" it read, with a few other sweet words also attached.. signed by who you ask?... "your boy in Mozambique".

Am i one lucky gal or what? Oh and don't worry... we are down to 28 days now.

this kid is so awesome. I love him to pieces. He was so excited to be able to receive the priesthood and his first temple recommend and cant wait to go to the temple next week! What a little stud. i cant believe he is already 12! I remember vividly the days i got to stay home from school to help mom.. i would sit on the couch all day with this little baby in my arms and just talk to him. He has always been--- and will always be my little buddy and best friend! he loves to give me dating advice and is always sure to tell me what he thinks of the few men i have brought home. He is getting to be a little stinker though and wont hold my hand in public! What a brat. haha I love you teagy!

Eric and i have been friends since 9th grade spanish class when he decided to write 'dirty haley' on my desk, chair, and every paper i turned in. Dont ask me where he got 'dirty haley' because to this day neither of us know! All he will say is that he knew it bugged me so bad and so he kept doing it just to make me angry! what a butt head! We became even better friends our senior year when we served on Student Government together. He is probably the funniest kid on the planet and i am sure he is being such a great missionary. i cant wait for him to come home in may! Happy 21 Elder Proctor!

Am is so great is so many ways! We became close friends in the fall of 2009 while we were both attending Dixie. We dated on and off through 2010 (i will admit it was my fault every time i suck at dating) and have now decided to just be friends. He is wayyyy legit at baseball and is one of the most caring and thoughtful individuals i have ever met. He served in Japan and really taught me to love the asian culture. I learned a lot from this boy and wish him a very Happy 23rd birthday!

Surprise!!

On saturday while i was at work i got the exciting call that we would be throwing a surprise party for Jason that night. We were to meet at carson's at 6:30 so when jason arrived at 7 we could blast him with the surprise! Well true to Jasons character.. he was an hour late! He made up for it though with his shocked expression when we all came running out of Carson's room yelling "Happy Birthday" and "SURPRISE!" I think he was completely confused, shocked, and happy all at the same time. it was so cute.

You know how in big groups the "pair off" usually happens? well in our group of friends i feel like that seldom happens, however this night unfortunately it did! Good thing i had my lovely date Kylee! Screw boys when you have the best girlfriends ever right?!

Happy 21st Birthday Whitley Ellen Davis!

A big shout out goes to my roomie and bestie Whitley Davis.. Today is her 21st birthday! It is crazy to me that she is 21.. what the? where did time go? i swear it was just yesterday that we were throwing water balloons together at my 16th birthday party.

Whit and i have known each other since we were in the 8th grade. I switched soccer teams and that is when our relationship began. We both committed to play soccer for Dixie State within two weeks of each other, and it was a no-brainer that we would be roommates. We have had so many fun memories together and i cant wait for the many more to come! :)

I love this girl. She is the most steadfast and perfect example anyone could ask for. She is a very good listener and always knows just what to say. She definitely kept me in line and always made me want to do better. I will never forget the nights that we shared reading scriptures or having gospel talks in our small little room freshman year. She really is such an amazing person and i am so lucky to have her in my life!

Whit and I have had so many funny moments together. I think one of my favorites though just happened during my last semester at Dixie. We were up super late doing homework. i was laying on my bed and she was laying on hers just across the hall. I couldn't really see her but she asked if she could use my chapstick. So i chucked it over through her cracked open door. Somehow it miraculously made it into her room and the next thing i see is whitley hanging off her 4 ft tall bed upside down trying to pick up the chapstick from off the ground with out actually having to get off her bed. She got ahold of the chapstick and then she couldnt get back up on the bed. She was screaming for me to help her, but i was laughing so hard i couldnt even move. She kept screaming until our two other roommates came out of their rooms so angry that we had woken them up. Classic Whitley story.

Happy Birthday Min!!

It was my roommate's birthday on Saturday and boy did we celebrate! We were all so crazy busy, but in the end.. i am pretty sure she had a great day! We celebrated by going for ice cream after their soccer game, and on sunday we surprised her with homemade oreo cookies and a confetti cake.

I have known Lauren (aka minni) since i was about ten. We played AYSO soccer together, and then we were on our first club soccer team together. Through the years we grew up playing with, and against each other. Such great memories! We both committed to Dixie State our senior year of high school.. and soon after we decided to be roommates! It has been good times ever since!

Min is such a great girl and such an amazing example to me in so many ways! I wish i could be as organized, clean, and on-top of things as Lauren is. She is always so nice to everyone, and so strong in the gospel. Love the girl to pieces and i hope she had the best birthday ever!
